Tae Kwon Do is not just a sport, it's a way of life. That phrase is the basis of why we are reaching out to all of the families at Korea America Tae Kwon Do Academy.
The investment that each family makes in order to have a student participate in Tae Kwon Do is commendable and not without sacrifice. As parents, we should all stand proud of the accomplishments that these students have achieved with each passing year and belt color. KAPA was found in an effort for the parents of Korea America Tae Kwon Do to make an impact on the sport that has become part of our lives. Some of the parents are active members/students at the Dojang, others are active through their support of the events, and still others simply through the dedication of getting your child to class on a regular basis and on time. Regardless, we are reaching out to every family and asking for your support. We're giving everyone an opportunity to be involved and have a voice in the continued success of our students.
For those who are not aware, competitions are NOT just for those who want to go to teh Olympics! It is a chance for the students to showcase their sport and all that they have been working hard for. Would you go to football practice but never a game? No, of course you wouldn't, you practice for the event! All levels, belt colors, and skill sets can and should participate in competition. The members of Champions Club will tell you that the tournaments are fun and provide plenty of family time.
Throughout the coming year, KAPA will be hosting various fund raising events to benefit all athletes. Our school has been represented at local and national levels and we want to celebrate this.
Don't let your kids do it alone. Get out and have fun!! A few sponsors, a new pair of sneakers, and off you go. Donations are tax deductible so get the relatives who are sharing Thanksgiving with you to sponsor you for the race not just the distance. A prize will be awarded to the top donation generator!
Finally, we want to make sure that everyone is aware of all the upcoming competitions so that each family can plan to participate. Each month we will publish a newsletter with updates on events at the school, upcoming competitions and financial successes of our fund raising. We are open to your ideas in how to continue to grown and improve KAPA.
